What? “the clitoridian smile was designed some years ago for a march for legalizing free abortions. we thought that a good way to question undesired pregnancys was first to ask about our own pleasure. as the feminist or Rivolta Femineli in Italia asked: we get pregnant looking for the pleasure of whom?
we have to fight to dissociate the totalitarian mandato that the ideal sexual intercourse ends with sperma in our vagina!”

What? “the poster is based in a book of a mexican feminist called “mujeres cautivas” written by Marcela Lagarde, with whom we share the abolitionist position (that a world without prostitution and sexual explotation is possible).”

An exhibition that sounds interesting to me, about 2-colour DIY print design (Can be an interesting technique for feminist posters as well!) :
Risografia exhibits prints by 24 Belgian and international artists. Everyone of them made a design in red and blue on A3 size for a one-color Riso-printer (RP 3700). The paper ran through the machine twice, once in red and once in blue ink. The results can be seen at Risografia in DOK, a new creative meeting space in the Belgian city Gent.

Topo Copy is a centre for print, paper, zines, etc that still has to be founded. The plan is to start workshops, talks, exhibitions, a label, a shop, a work space and more. I’m curious to see it in practice!
This project is a collaboration of Ladda vzw and El Topo, a street artist and graphic designer.
Where? in DOK in Gent (Belgium)
When? until July 24th 2011
